Consumer expenditure is an important measure of an area’s economic health. As Eastern West Virginia continues to develop with diverse, well-paying employers locating to the area, we can expect consumer expenditures to increase. West Virginia’s annual per capita personal consumption expenditure has doubled since 2000 and continues to increase.
